PGA Tour 2K25`s second season has officially launched, bringing significant updates to the game that developer HB Studios and publisher 2K Games hope will greatly please players.
The most significant addition this season is the new `Challenges` mode. This mode uniquely combines intricate golf scenarios with elements typically found in role-playing games. Players begin on a map and are free to choose their own progression path, tackling various challenges to earn valuable rewards. While rooted in authentic golf mechanics, some missions offer a more lighthearted, arcade-like feel to enhance variety.
Within these scenarios, players are tasked with meeting specific requirements, often assisted or hindered by unique gameplay modifiers. An example given is the need for players to guide their golf shots precisely through a series of floating rings.
Furthermore, some challenges draw inspiration from memorable moments in golf history, giving players the opportunity to replicate iconic shots from the sport`s past. HB Studios has committed to expanding and refreshing this mode with new content in every future season. A completely new course designed specifically for this mode, developed in collaboration with Charles Schwab, is also scheduled for release in the coming weeks.
In addition to the new mode, Season 2 introduces the legendary Old Course at St. Andrews to PGA Tour 2K25. Players can also unlock a wide range of new rewards, including various upgrades, enhancements, and cosmetic gear. Among the new shot types available is the `Long Flop`. This shot provides more power than the standard Flop Shot but shares its characteristic high trajectory, significant spin, and controlled roll, making it an excellent option for recovering or adjusting after a shot that didn`t quite reach its intended distance.
