Rashad Evans vs. Rampage Jackson Boxing Fight Off

The boxing match between Rashad Evans and Rampage Jackson, which was scheduled for next weekend, has been canceled.

The former UFC champions were supposed to headline ICS Mania 1 on April 12 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

ICS Boxing initially announced that the event on April 12 would still proceed with the undercard and co-main events, and that Rashad Evans would face a different opponent.

However, it now appears that Evans will not be competing at the event at all. Evans released a statement explaining the situation.

“This was a decision we didn`t want to make. We know the fans were excited, and we were too. Unfortunately, we`ve run into unexpected problems with the promotion, and some key contractual agreements have not been fulfilled as planned,” Evans stated.

Evans still hopes to box Jackson sometime in the future.

In their previous encounter in MMA, Evans defeated Jackson by unanimous decision at UFC 114 in May 2010. Evans returned to combat sports in 2022 after retirement, winning a decision against Gabriel Checco in Eagle FC.

Jackson has not fought since a knockout loss to Fedor Emelianenko in December 2019 at Bellator 237. His MMA record includes notable runs in UFC and PRIDE.
