Raul Rosas Jr. Earns Unanimous Decision Victory Over Vince Morales at UFC Mexico

Raul Rosas Jr. secured a unanimous decision win against Vince Morales at UFC Mexico, although he faced a tense moment late in the fight.

Rosas started strong, utilizing multiple takedowns and nearly securing submissions to control Morales on the ground. In the third round, Morales mounted a comeback attempt, locking in a tight D’Arce choke. However, Rosas managed to escape and hold on until the end of the fight.

All three judges scored the bout 29-28 in favor of Rosas, who celebrated his victory in front of an enthusiastic Mexican crowd.

“Dana [White], thank you for giving me the opportunity to redeem myself in front of my Mexican fans tonight,” Rosas stated, referring to a previous UFC Mexico event he missed due to illness. “I’m only 20 years old, with five wins in the UFC. Watch me grow over the years. I’m ready to face anyone on my path to the belt.”

From the start, Rosas executed an early takedown, landing effective punches and elbows while Morales defended from his back. Despite Morales’ defensive efforts, Rosas maintained relentless pressure, constantly scrambling and gaining dominant positions on the ground.

Rosas`s aggressive offense briefly exposed him to a counter, allowing Morales to reverse position and attempt a Peruvian necktie submission just before the first round concluded.

Throughout the fight, Rosas continued to press forward. As Morales offered little threat on his feet, Rosas consistently took the fight back to the ground. While Morales made him work, Rosas maintained control, accumulating points on the judges` scorecards.

In a desperate attempt to turn the tide, Morales nearly succeeded with a tight anaconda choke, transitioning into a D’Arce choke that momentarily threatened to finish Rosas. However, Rosas remained composed, patiently maneuvering until he broke free and regained top position.

Morales launched a final submission attempt just before the bell, but Rosas successfully defended to secure the win.

This victory marks Rosas`s fourth consecutive win since his only career loss, demonstrating his continued development with each performance. With the UFC returning to Mexico in September for Noche UFC, Rosas may aim to compete there again, following the strong support he received on Saturday.
