Sean Brady delivered a top-tier performance against Leon Edwards, establishing himself as a prominent contender in the welterweight division.
During the UFC London main event on Saturday, Brady dominated Edwards, a former champion, effectively controlling the first three rounds and seemingly heading towards a victory by decision. However, the fighter from Philadelphia didn`t rely on the judges` scorecards, instead taking decisive action and securing a submission victory over Edwards with a guillotine choke in the fourth round.
This marked the first time in Edwards` career that he has been defeated by either knockout or submission.
Brady`s dominant performance drew enthusiastic reactions from fellow fighters, including Henry Cejudo, Gilbert Burns, Chris Weidman, Stephen Thompson, and Johnny Eblen, who all praised his skills. Cejudo proposed a matchup between Brady and Shavkat Rakhmonov to decide the top contender for the welterweight title, while Eblen and Terrance McKinney advocated for Brady to receive an immediate title shot.
