Sean O`Malley is involving a wide variety of people in his preparation for the rematch with Merab Dvalishvili.
In recent years, there has been a growing number of bloggers and fans willing to “take a beating” from high-level professional MMA fighters. Just last week, Sean Strickland roughed up a YouTuber (which has become a habit for him), and now “Suga” Sean O`Malley has joined this trend.
Over the weekend, O`Malley posted a video on his YouTube channel showing him sparring with professional poker player and YouTuber Frankie C.
In the video, O`Malley says that first he and Frankie C played heads-up poker. But, obviously, poker and professional fighting are different things, and it seems Frankie C got the worse end of the deal, as O`Malley (gently) worked him over around the ring/cage, ultimately sending Frankie C to the canvas with repeated body shots.
Credit must be given to Frankie C, who had no illusions about his chances against O`Malley in a fight. He admitted that O`Malley is very scary but believed nothing serious would happen. For his part, O`Malley seemed to want to make an impression on Frankie C without causing him real harm.
“I want him to feel like he got hit by a truck,” O`Malley said. “I want to work the body, I want to throw a couple of low kicks. Good, hard low kicks. I`m going to try and get him really, really tired.”
O`Malley will fight Dvalishvili for the bantamweight championship title in the main event of UFC 316, which takes place on June 7 at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
