Shamil Tarpischev, President of the Russian Tennis Federation, offered his perspective on the working relationship between world No. 14 Andrey Rublev and former world No. 1 Marat Safin.
According to TASS, Tarpischev stated: “Safin was Rublev`s idol. They maintain contact. From a psychological standpoint, their cooperation is beneficial. It represents a certain reboot. However, I personally think this arrangement will not last long for them.”
In a separate comment, Andrey Rublev himself has described their dynamic, noting: “Safin is very strict with me. He maintains distance between the player and the coach.”
