Top flyweight contenders Tatsuro Taira and Amir Albazi are reportedly slated to face off in the main event of UFC Vegas 108.
Multiple sources with knowledge of the promotion`s plans have confirmed that the matchup will headline the event scheduled for August 2nd, taking place at the UFC APEX facility.
Taira, the promising 25-year-old prospect, is returning to action after suffering the first professional defeat of his mixed martial arts career. He lost a competitive split decision to Brandon Royval in a highly-regarded bout last October. Before this setback, Taira boasted an undefeated record, including impressive stoppage victories over Carlos Hernandez and Alex Perez.
Albazi, the 31-year-old Iraqi-Swedish fighter, is also looking to bounce back after his first loss under the UFC banner. He was defeated by decision against Brandon Moreno in a main event last November. Albazi`s fight against Moreno marked his return following a significant period of inactivity, having previously secured a split decision win against Kai Kara-France in June 2023.
