Ugo Humbert, the 20th-ranked player in the world, has fractured the little finger on his right hand. The bizarre injury occurred when he was taking off his t-shirt, according to Eurosport.
Humbert`s coach, Fabrice Martin, commented, “For two days we have been searching for a bandage to lessen the pain when hitting forehands. We are hoping that this will not impact his performance during the clay court season.”
This news comes after Humbert`s first-round defeat at the Monte Carlo Masters against Alexei Popyrin. The loss means he will drop out of the Top 20 in the rankings as he failed to defend his quarterfinal result from last year.
