“The match didn’t go well.” Roman Safiullin Analyzes Rome Defeat by Alexander Bublik

Russian tennis player Roman Safiullin provided his thoughts after his first-round match at the Rome Masters. Safiullin was defeated by Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan with a score of 3/6, 6/7(4).

“Honestly, the match didn`t go well,” Safiullin commented during his press conference. “I had opportunities for breaks in both the first and second sets, but I played my serve carelessly. I made mistakes on simple points.”

He added regarding the tie-break, “On the tie-break, I played quite well, but I lacked confidence in my own strength in certain moments. I didn`t play confidently or aggressively enough to put significant pressure on my opponent.”

Bublik`s next opponent in the tournament will be Norway`s Casper Ruud.
