British tennis player Emma Raducanu shared her thoughts after securing a spot in the second round of the Queen`s Club tournament in London. In her opening match, she defeated Spain`s Cristina Bucsa with a score of 6/1, 6/2.
Speaking after the victory, Raducanu commented on her performance and experience:
`I have to admit, I was completely focused today, so I am very pleased with the final result.
Certainly, there were some nerves at the start. This is my first time competing on the courts here at Queen’s. The support from the crowd was incredible.
I would say I am still in the process of adjusting to this type of surface. There are specific aspects of my game where I feel I`m slightly off pace, and I am actively working on improving those areas.
I was aware that today`s match would be challenging – I had lost to Cristina earlier this season, so I put in maximum effort to ensure the same outcome didn`t repeat itself.
My objective is to remain at Queen’s for as long as possible and play as many matches as I can.`
