Trevor Peek Withdraws from UFC Fight After Freak Leg Injury

Trevor Peek has been forced to withdraw from his upcoming UFC fight due to a leg fracture sustained during training.

The injury occurred at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas while Peek was jump roping. He described the incident, saying he heard a loud pop like a “shotgun” when his leg broke.

Peek was scheduled to face Jeong Yeong Lee at UFC Des Moines on May 3. This fight is now canceled.

In a video posted on Instagram, Peek explained that he was jump roping for about 20 minutes and became tired, leading to the accident. He is undergoing further scans to assess potential ligament damage.

After two losses in 2024, Peek was aiming to return to winning form in 2025. He acknowledges the setback but also suggests that being injured on UFC property might have been a positive as it led to the UFC pulling him from the fight, preventing him from potentially fighting injured.

Peek mentioned discussions with UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby about rescheduling his fight for the Nashville event in July. It is unclear if the UFC will find a replacement opponent for Jeong Yeong Lee.
