The highly anticipated rematch between Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O`Malley is fast approaching, less than a month away.
Their previous encounter at UFC 306 last September saw Dvalishvili claim his dream of UFC gold by winning the bantamweight title via a unanimous decision over O`Malley in the main event. O`Malley described his performance as disappointing, later revealing he had suffered a hip injury prior to the bout.
Now, “Suga” Sean O`Malley has the opportunity to avenge that loss, and the UFC is putting significant promotional weight behind the event.
On Monday, the UFC unveiled a new promotional video for UFC 316, which places strong emphasis on the Dvalishvili vs. O`Malley rematch. Notably, the promo leads by highlighting O`Malley before featuring the reigning champion. Towards the end, the video briefly mentions the evening`s co-main event: a women`s bantamweight title fight between Julianna Peña and Kayla Harrison.
UFC 316 is scheduled to take place on June 7th at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
