UFC Fighter Pulled from Kansas City Event Following Arrest

UFC Kansas City card has been changed due to unforeseen circumstances.

Ahmad Hassanzada was arrested on Saturday in Sacramento, California, on allegations of sexual misconduct against a minor. He faces felony charges, including lewd acts with a child under 14.

Hassanzada is currently detained in Sacramento County Jail with a $400,000 bail and is scheduled for a court appearance on Tuesday morning.

The 28-year-old fighter was originally set to compete against Evan Elder at Saturday`s Fight Night event. Now, Evan Elder will face UFC newcomer Gauge Young, as announced by the promotion.

Hassanzada secured his UFC contract after a submission victory in Dana White’s Contender Series in September. He had previously competed on DWCS in 2022 and had a mixed record in his subsequent four fights.

UFC officials have confirmed that Hassanzada is no longer under contract with the organization.
