UFC Kansas City Bonuses: Brown and Dalby Awarded Fight of the Night

The welterweight clash at UFC Kansas City between Randy Brown and Nicolas Dalby lived up to expectations, earning both fighters the coveted Fight of the Night bonus, each receiving an additional $50,000.

In a competitive matchup, Brown ultimately secured the victory in the second round with a highlight-reel knockout against a visibly bloodied Dalby. While Brown got the win, both seasoned welterweights delivered a performance worthy of recognition. This is Brown`s first time earning the Fight of the Night honor, whereas Dalby adds a third such bonus to his UFC career achievements.

Beyond the night`s top brawl, two fighters were recognized with Performance of the Night bonuses, also worth $50,000 each: co-main event participant Zhang Mingyang and debuting fighter Malcolm Wellmaker.

Zhang Mingyang made a significant statement in the co-main event by defeating veteran Anthony Smith. Zhang`s powerful striking barrage in the first round led to a TKO win, contributing to Smith`s previously announced retirement plans. Known as “Mountain Tiger,” Zhang showcased relentless pressure and impactful strikes.

In his highly anticipated UFC debut after being signed from Dana White`s Contender Series, Malcolm Wellmaker needed minimal time to impress. He finished Cameron Saaiman with a single, decisive right hook in the first round. This knockout victory keeps Wellmaker`s professional mixed martial arts record perfect at 9-0.
