UFC Mexico Weigh-in Results: Rodriguez Misses Weight

Ronaldo Rodriguez, a rising star, has faced a minor setback.

At the official weigh-ins for UFC Mexico on Friday, the popular Mexican fighter exceeded the flyweight limit. The event is scheduled for Saturday at Arena CDMX. Rodriguez weighed 127 pounds, which is one pound over the limit (including the one-pound allowance for non-title fights). His opponent, Kevin Borjas, weighed in at 125 pounds for their main card fight.

Their fight will proceed at a catchweight of 127 pounds. Rodriguez will lose 20 percent of his fight earnings as a penalty.

In the main event, Brandon Moreno, a two-time flyweight champion, and Steve Erceg, a recent title challenger, both successfully made weight. They both weighed exactly 125 pounds, the championship limit. Moreno is currently ranked No. 4 in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, while Erceg is at No. 13.
