Former PFL heavyweight champion Ante Delija is set to make his highly anticipated transition to the UFC.
The recently signed fighter will step into the octagon for the first time against fellow veteran heavyweight Marcin Tybura, who holds a record of 27 wins and 9 losses, at the UFC event in Paris scheduled for September 6th.
Delija, with a professional record of 25 wins and 6 losses, achieved significant success in PFL, securing the heavyweight tournament crown in 2022 after finishing as the runner-up in 2021. His championship run in 2022 included notable victories over Matheus Scheffel, Shelton Graves, and Renan Ferreira. He ultimately defeated Scheffel again in the tournament final to claim the title and a substantial $1,000,000 prize.
Before signing with the UFC, Delija compiled a 1-1 record in his final two PFL appearances. He then bounced back with a first-round knockout win against Yorgan De Castro at an event held in Slovenia this past April.
Marcin Tybura has been a consistent contender in the UFC`s heavyweight division for nearly a decade. The Polish fighter is currently on a two-fight win streak, having recently defeated Mick Parkin, who was previously undefeated, and Jhonata Diniz. Tybura has won three of his last four fights. This upcoming bout will mark his 23rd appearance inside the UFC Octagon.
The UFC Paris event on September 6th will feature a pivotal middleweight contenders` bout in the main event, pitting France`s own Nassourdine Imavov against Caio Borralho.
