Ahead of UFC Vegas 105, the weigh-ins presented some challenges. Out of 26 fighters scheduled to compete, 25 successfully weighed in on Friday. However, not everyone made weight, and one fighter didn`t even appear.
Daniel Santos was unable to weigh in for his fight against Davey Grant. It was announced by UFC commentator Brendan Fitzgerald that Santos had a “medical issue,” leading to the cancellation of the bout. Davey Grant successfully made weight at 135.5 pounds.
UFC Vegas 105 is scheduled for Saturday at the UFC APEX.
The main event fighters, Josh Emmett and Lerone Murphy, both successfully made weight for their featherweight fight. Emmett was the first to weigh in at 146 pounds, and Murphy followed shortly after at 145.5 pounds for his second UFC main event.
Cortavious Romious significantly missed weight, exceeding the limit by over three pounds as he aims for his first UFC win.
Romious, a participant from the 2024 Contender Series, weighed in at 139.5 pounds – 3.5 pounds over the bantamweight limit – for his fight against Chang Ho Lee. Lee, age 30, successfully weighed in at 136 pounds for his second UFC appearance. Despite missing weight, the fight will proceed, with Romious forfeiting 20% of his purse.
