Cheyanne Vlismas, a veteran fighter who competed four times in the UFC, has announced her decision to retire from mixed martial arts competition.
On Monday, “The Warrior Princess,” who earned her UFC contract through Dana White`s Contender Series, shared her retirement on social media. She concluded her professional fighting career with an overall record of 7-3, including a 2-2 stint inside the octagon.
In her announcement, Vlismas stated that the decision, though heartbreaking, was necessary. She explained that after welcoming her second child, her available time is significantly limited, making it impossible to commit 100 percent to training without taking away from her children. She highlighted that this decision stems from her desire to be the kind of present parent she wished she had during her own upbringing.
Vlismas expressed her deep love for fighting, acknowledging that while she is young and could potentially return, she simply cannot leave her children for the two-month periods required for a training camp. She reflected that although she didn`t achieve all her dreams in the sport, she reached its highest level and will now dedicate herself fully to motherhood. She also extended thanks to all her fans for their support.
Vlismas initially secured her place in the UFC by winning a unanimous decision against Hilarie Rose on DWCS in August 2020. The 30-year-old fighter experienced a loss in her promotional debut before bouncing back with consecutive victories over Gloria de Paula and Mallory Martin.
Her final professional bout was a decision loss to Cory McKenna, which took place at UFC Vegas 66 in December 2022.
