заслуженный тренер россии, виктор янчук, shared his thoughts on the newly formed coaching partnership between diana shnaider and dinara safina.
“it`s quite intriguing and positive,” yanchuk commented. “diana previously worked with a male coach from our country, igor andreev. having a female coach can be beneficial. andreev, who i believe is also involved with the national team, did a good job with diana, helping her to reach a good level. he definitely contributed positively.”
yanchuk added, “safina faces a somewhat more challenging task at this stage: to build upon existing success. this is her first significant coaching role, a new experience for her. it will be interesting to observe how it unfolds,” as quoted by `sovetsky sport`.
the expert also commented on andrey rublev`s collaboration with marat safin.
“it`s interesting, and we`ll see how it goes. safin could be particularly helpful psychologically. to some extent, he might also offer tactical advice, although they have slightly different playing styles. also, tennis has evolved since safin`s peak playing days. they need to establish mutual understanding and trust, which is crucial in a coach-athlete relationship. both have playing experience, and safin can certainly provide rublev with valuable on-court insights. time will reveal the nuances of this partnership.”
