Tracy Cortez is scheduled to make her return to the Octagon at UFC 317. Sources familiar with the promotion`s plans have confirmed that Cortez is booked to face fellow flyweight contender Viviane Araujo in a pivotal matchup.
The women`s flyweight bout is slated to take place on June 28 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, as part of the highly anticipated UFC 317 event.
Viviane Araujo is coming off a significant victory, having secured an upset win against Karine Silva at UFC 309 last November. Prior to that, she faced a unanimous decision loss to Natalia Silva in February 2024 at UFC Vegas 85. Araujo is currently recognized among the top contenders in the 125-pound division.
Tracy Cortez recently experienced the first loss of her UFC career, which simultaneously ended her impressive 11-fight professional winning streak. That defeat came via unanimous decision against former strawweight champion Rose Namajunas in a main event bout at UFC Denver last June. Before her fight with Namajunas, Cortez had earned a unanimous decision win over Jasmine Jasudavicius at Noche UFC in September 2023.
