Wimbledon to Permit Black Armbands in Memory of Diogo Jota

Wimbledon is set to make an exception to its strict dress code, allowing players to pay tribute to the memory of Diogo Jota, according to reports from The Telegraph.

Tournament organizers have given permission for players to wear black mourning armbands during matches scheduled for Thursday. This gesture is intended to honor the Liverpool forward, who tragically passed away in a car accident along with his brother, Andre.

Portuguese tennis player Francisco Cabral has indicated that he plans to wear an armband during his upcoming match.

Commenting on the death of Diogo Jota and his brother, Rafael Nadal described the news as “terribly sad and painful.”
